| “ | It is a place of penance and education for the less fortunate, for those who have lost their way from the path. We help them find Okran in their heart so that they can live a life of higher purpose and redemption. It is a place where they can be reborn once again, as children of Okran. | ” |
–Paladin, introducing the player to Rebirth | ||
Rebirth is a labor camp in the pit of a large mountain where The Holy Nation sends criminals for punishment and repentance. All races can be present here, except for Skeletons[1], as The Holy Nation does not consider them to have a soul. It is located in an eponymous region north of main Holy Nation territory.
This place functions as a concentration camp for religious re-education and penance, where the imprisoned are to perform various labour tasks and to build and maintain a statue resembling either Okran or Phoenix to redeem themsleves[2] until their passing, by which point their soul would then be believed to be reborn as a child of Okran[3], although it's suggested that the sentencing for some is temporary and could be let out once they are deemed to be cleansed sufficiently[4][5][6].
Much like other prison camps in the HN, this camp is established for religious reasons and a place to organize prisoners. The camp houses various undesirables such as hardened criminals[7][8] and border trespassers[9], the prevalence of Sheks in this area suggests that many were raiders of various Shek factions such as Shek Kingdom, Kral's Chosen and Berserkers[10].
Players can sell or donate characters to Rebirth Shopkeep they consider in need of punishment[11]. Non-player characters, such as Fishmen, Cannibals or Bandits, will be accepted for a price of c.500 if the player specifically asks for compensation, otherwise it will yield +1 reputation with The Holy Nation. Unlike the similar practice of Slave Traders (and their close associates), Rebirth isn't meant for personal gain or exploitation[12] but rather for re-education and discipline[13], as a result the player wouldn't be able to buy any inmates.
Players can potentially gain recruits by unlocking cages and shackles, depending on the personality of the inmate in question.
You can start your game in Rebirth with two non-Skeleton characters if you choose "The Slaves" game start.

Trivia[]
- If the player was enslaved by The Holy Nation or the Slavemongers, they will be sent here.
- Due to Slavemongers being supposed to be a removed content, they would just stand idly without doing anything.
- Although lore-wise Skeletons are not supposed to be enslaved, gameplay mechanics would still make the HN enslave or imprison any Skeletons nearby.
- Flotsam Ninjas aid the escape of slaves, as could be seen in the shack ("Flotsam Safehouse") right north of it.
- Bast's dialogue would indicate that their youngsters were captured and sent here.
- Maril's Diary Series is in large part related to this area.
