Kenshi Wiki

Port North is a town controlled by Slave Traders. Despite being called a "port," this town is essentially a Stone Camp because it contains many stone mines and raw materials processing industries. It likely produces iron plates and building materials for export. Lady Kana lives here in a Noble House, surrounded by her hooded Empire Noble Guards. You can find this town by venturing to "middle" of the northern seashore of the Great Desert or by acquiring and reading the Map of the United Cities (Central Territories).

Although all the industrial machineries her only includes Stone and Iron-related products, it is said by Lady Kana that this slave camp is the biggest 'Slave Farm' and also a producer of clothing. Therefore, it is likely that the industrial buildings resource output should not be taken literally as their export of commodities.

This Slave Camp provides supply lines to Bark and Sho-Battai.

Despite featuring buildings labeled "Slaver Bar" there are no barman in this town to trade with.

There is also another "port" in The Great Desert, called Port South and it is controlled by Slave Master Wada.

Trivia[]

Designation of this town as a "port" (despite lacking a usable harbor due to defensive walls blocking off the sea) is yet another indication that the world of Kenshi currently uses maritime transport, especially to trade goods between the non-bordering Northern United Cities and the Southern United Cities despite engine limitations meaning boats do not exist in game. This is also supported by the existence of the Grass Pirates, and various dialogue that mentions boats/ships in passing. Shipment of raw materials produced on site over the sea would have been more practical and convenient than using desert caravans to cross the notoriously bandit-controlled "forbidden zone".

Information revealed about Kenshi 2 confirms that the Second Empire had significant maritime power that allowed them to use ships around the continent to traverse it due to the increased water levels turning it into an archipelago. Confirmation that the map will also be bigger also strongly implies that other landmasses exist on the unnamed moon of Kenshi that are not featured in the current game, implying that Port North among other port cities may hold much greater significance in the sequel.
