Pack Beasts are tamed Garrus used in Trade Caravans for Nomads, Traders Guild and the Western Hive to haul supplies and materials in their Garru Backpacks. They also make sturdy guards as they will happily participate in combat to protect their caravan. Despite their herbivorous nature in the wild, when tamed they are able to eat any kind of edible food, including Foul Raw Meat. They also have a voracious appetite, eating enough for two humans. Pack Beasts can be purchased from Nomad Animal Traders.

The Garru Backpack can carry goods in stacks of 6, which is one more than a Bull Backpack; they are otherwise identical in size, meaning an optimally-loaded Pack Beast can carry more stacked goods than its Bull equivalent. However, the Garru Backpack has a built-in lantern that cannot be turned off except by removing the pack, so Pack Beasts make your party less sneaky at night. The light may potentially provide a boon to nocturnal crossbow users. Both Domesticated Bulls and Pack Beasts make sturdy combatants, though Garrus lack the powerful charge attack of the Bull. Overall, both species are great for hauling tons of materials even if they aren't the best fighters.

Damage Calculations[]

These values are for when striking a target with 0% damage resistance. Animals can have one of three qualities for their "weapon". (Moving their position in a squad, saving and then reloading can change to another quality of the weapon) Their "weapon" provides them with 9.2 cut damage as well as 13 blunt damage which is uneffected by stats.
