Far as I know, there is no such method. Any edits done while an anon, will stay as part of that anon user, even if you later create an account. Would be a neat feature, but not something fandom currently does.
You've been doing good work though. So I'm sure the regiderstered edit will overshadow the anon ones in no time. If you have any questions or anything, always feel free to ask. :)
Its a pity, but its not a big deal overall. Thank you for the welcome and your help! :) I love exploring the world and there's still a lot to do. Take care and see you aroud the Hub
P.S. Profiting on your offer to help me with any questions. Could you confirm that the "link to section" part of the page feature has been removed or is it possible to link to a section in a page in some way? Thank you again in advance :)
I will try to experiment with the syntax to see which one is acceptable. There's a link on the "The_Holy_Nation" wiki page what worked well (under Player Relation), but I cannot replicate it for some reason.
Thank you for the help again!
Hello Shidan, I've been considering whether or not should I add an "Bounty" section to characters, with information such as which factions would accept turning them in with relation boosts/penalty when turning in to the respective faction. (For example: Turning in Tinfist to UC would give 100,000 c with -75 reputation with Anti-Slavers and -50 reputation with Rebel Farmers as well as +50 reputation with UC. But if you turn Tinfist into HN you would only get -75 reputation with Anti-Slavers and +55 reputation with HN without reputation change with Rebel Farmers or UC)
Hi, I wanted to give you an update that I'll be taking over as Wiki Manager for this wiki from Emptylord. Please feel free to send me a message if you need any technical help or want to reach out to Fandom!
1. Thanks for the heads up, wasn't aware that was going to happen.
2. Hmm... This one will definitely needs Jellywish in on the discussions, as she generally handles the visual design and layout of pages. From a quick look around on other wikis, it's going to require a bit of reorganization.
3. I see no reason not to. Far as I know we're all interested in user social interaction, which will require the the new Discussions feature enabled as I recall.
That slider gallery predates me but i've edited the images on it. It could be good to change things around and get a nagivation there. We should do some brainstorming on which pages to link to and what images to choose for them.
Oh, and 4. A lot of your infoboxes are still using the old-wiki style, rather than "new" portable-infobox (several years old). Is there any reason you have not updated? (Being unaware of the new system is a perfectly acceptable reason.) Some wikis haven't updated them due to feature disparity - so it's worth asking.
Care to provide an example of a a page with an old one? I knew there used to be an older infobox, but as far as I knew we had updated most pages to use templates with the "new" one. Unless there is some third one I was unaware of?
At the very least I don't recall any discussion of there being a descision to avoid them for any particular reason.
The following list is based on information from Special:Templates, which denotes portable/non-portable and how frequently used the templates are. The following are non-portable templates that are in regular use:
Ah, yeah I see them now. For Ammunition, Crossbow, Item, and Weapon I believe it was an intentional choice for customization purposes. They've been designed in a way that nearly perfectly resembles the game UI tooltips for those items. I didn't even know those were based on the old infobox.
Research is likely just due to repeating what was there before, and never replacing it with the new one. Possibly true of infobox2 as well, which is used on a couple pages.
I don't like the way the portable infoboxes look as much. Is there a way to have it be the old design on desktop browsers and switch to the new one on mobile? because it doesn't keep the colors anyway :/
While it is possible in HTML to have if-mobile-do-this-else-do-that, that is not something that is possible on Fandom. However, you don't need to have separate infoboxes - you can customize the appearance of a portable infobox using CSS. I don't see any reason why you would not be able to create the appearance of Bolts Regulars with portable infoboxes.
Ammunition and Weapon should be consolidated into the Item template. At the time, I created them separate because the code was getting lengthy. I initially intended on adding a blueprint section to the bottom of the weapon infobox but didn't because its unnecessary.
Template:Item_infobox looks great! I didn't realize the portable ones could be styled that way. <3
Hi! I'm here to follow Emptylord's work regarding portable infoboxes. What's the current status of this? Do you want me to convert all the remaining ones, using the style Emptylord created for Item infobox? Thanks in advance.
No problem at all! I've been cheking Emptylord's recent work.
Do you agree with what he did with the Template:Item infobox? Can I approve it and use in the current pages?
I've migrated the Template:Ammunition, only used in 2 pages and using Emptylord's style for Items. The Template:Crossbow is actually a table, not used as infobox, so I've changed its category and shouldn't be converted.
The only other pending infoboxes are Template:Infobox2, Template:Weapon and Template:Research. I've been doing their 3 drafts. You can see them and compare here. The weapon template uses the style for the item infobox. The other 2 are using the standard Europa theme, as the rest of infoboxes of the wiki, and technically speaking both 3 are working exactly as the old versions.
Yes, I think he did a pretty good job with the item one. So I'm good with rolling with it.
For the weapon one, I'd prefer if it didn't do the text wrap so much if possible. Though it probably wouldn't be as glaring of a problem on an actual weapon, since not all the values would be there for most of them.
No issues with the other two that I see though.
Thanks for helping out. Template work is often beyond me a bit, and sitting down to learn it is not somehting I really have time for these days. So it's really a big help. :)
Regarding the item theme (used in weapons) my intention was actually to extend the width of the labels, because as you can see in the comparison the damage fields are too long and I wanted to have the texts in just one line, like the old non-portable infobox. Nevertheless, it seems I didn't write the code properly because they're still showing it in 2 lines. This is actually the concern you've mentioned? I didn't understand properly what "I'd prefer if it didn't do the text wrap" means.
Regarding Infobox2 and Research, in this case I'm approving them.
Hey Shidan! I have noticed that you have changed your profile pic from a bird to this picture that you are currently having right now. I wonder... is that a happy Shek with horns on the back of her skull without a nose?
So I only got Kenshi a few days ago, but I've been playing on my friends computer. I don't have much experience with bugs in Kenshi, But I couldn't find anything online about this issue. I bought one of the destroyed homes in squin. I was selling the copper. I was mining, and I began to notice that the guards weren't at either of the gates. It has been five days now and still no guards have gone to their posts, and I am worried for the saftey of my workers.
Very strange. Should probably make a report on either the Steam forums or Lo-Fi forums, that way the devs can look into the issue. Uploading the save for them would likely be a good idea as well.
After that, you could try making a journey to another town with everyone. If you get everyone far enough away from the town, town guards can regenerate over time. Alternatively you could import the save, which would force respawn them.
Either one of those should be far enough away to allow the guards to respawn. Then you can return if you wish. Though if you've got non-humans I'd stick with Admag, the folks up in Stack don't take kindly to non-humans.
Hey Shidan! I'm Emptylord, and I'm the Fandom Wiki Manager for Kenshi Wiki. I introduced myself on your Boards, but just wanted to drop you a message personally since you're one of the more active editors around here. Basically, if you have any questions relating to the wiki, I hope to be your first point of contact.
Welcome to our humble abode! I'm not as active as I used to be anymore, as IRL has reared its ugly head lately, but I do still like to keep an eye on things here when I can. Jellywish and Smile are likely going to be the main people you end up talking to, as they are the main editors right now. But I'll keep you in mind if I come across anything I need your assistance with. :)
