If Lady Merin is killed or imprisoned then town overrides can apply to Drifter's Last.
The death or imprisonment of Lady Merin will cause Drifter's Last to become half-destroyed, or if Slave Mistress Grace has also been killed or imprisoned then Drifter's Last will be turned over to Empire Peasants.
Her death/imprisonment will also cause Rebel Farmers patrols to cease spawning and be replaced with Rebel Swordsmen patrols in The Hook.
