Crabs are large, reddish, crustacean-like creatures that are usually hostile, perhaps because they are crabby. They are strong fighters but quite slow. They mostly roam coastal regions in the east/southeast parts of the continent, including the Howler Maze, The Pits East, and Greenbeach.
Crabs can also be found in Crab Nests which can contain anywhere between 5 to 30 baby crabs. Crabs spawn in a few buildings in the Howler Maze, making exploring those buildings hazardous. Potentially up to 49 Crab Eggs can be found sitting on the ground in a Crab Nest. It is not possible to hatch a crab egg, so these are merely for selling.
There are several unique powerful crabs including the Megacrab, found in the Lost Town. The rest can be met during a Crab Tournament.
Crabs can be purchased from Crab Raiders, who revere the creatures, at Crab Shops found in Crab Town and Crab Village. An adult crab costs approximately 14,000 Cats.

Damage Calculations[]
These values are for when striking a target with 0% damage resistance. Animals can have one of three qualities for their "weapon". (Moving their position in a squad, saving and then reloading can change to another quality of the weapon) The 23 in the cut calculation is from the minimum cut damage (13) combined with 10 piercing damage which Crabs have.
Variant 1
Cut = 23 + 0.8774025 (Martial Arts + Dex)
Blunt = Martial Arts (0.039) + Strength (0.117)
Variant 2
Cut = 23 + 0.89232 (Martial Arts + Dex)
Blunt = Martial Arts (0.052) + Strength (0.156)
Variant 3
Cut = 23 + 0.9072375 (Martial Arts + Dex)
Blunt = Martial Arts (0.065) + Strength (0.195)
Play Style[]
Crabs have the slowest movement speed of any animal purchasable in game and eat quite a lot. They make up for this by having fast, high-damage attacks which can hit 2 enemies at a time. This makes crabs useful at picking off units separated from their squad. As with all animals, the older they get, the further their attacks can reach. Due to their slowness, they are often used to defend stationary player bases, where their inability to keep pace with others does not matter much. It is also important to have a reliable food supply to feed the hungry creatures.
It is not necessary to own your own crabs for the Crab Raiders to declare a Crab Tournament at your base, although their absence will cause the raiders to worriedly ask if your crabs are sick.
Spawns[]
Regions[]
The Pits and The Pits East are prime areas to find crabs as well as Crab Raiders. They also spawn in the Howler Maze and the Unwanted Zone.
Spawn Groups[]
Other Locations[]
Crabs are also found on Fishman Island. Gurglers will consistently outnumber crabs on the island until the death of King Gurgler, at which point Gurglers and their nests will stop spawning. Only crab patrols will spawn afterwards.
